Following the social issues (micro-aggression, systemic racism) raised by the pandemic in recent months, Marie-Eve Aubry developed this collection, allowing her to revisit who she is as an individual and what she aspires to become.
Come As You Are explores the question of identity as an Asian adoptee. With adoption often comes prejudice and the feeling of being caught between two worlds. Never knowing where to belong, or where to stand - and what being different truly means. For Albéric, this means freedom to construct her own identity by creating a safe space to unlearn and experiment. The collection explores the nostalgia of old memories by juxtaposing images from her childhood. Come As You Are features one-of-a-kind pieces carefully crafted from natural materials while giving a second life to cast-offs.
